Below is a list of New England Towns mentioned in your text.  I have divided them up into roughly equal numbers (a few of you have eight, rather than six) and I'd like to have you conduct a little internet research on them.
 

Your text considers the period prior to the Civil War, and it would be useful to know something about how these towns continued to develop in the years following.  I have located a couple of sources which I think will be useful for you.  First, the Library of Congress has digitized a large number of panoramic maps and made them available on the Internet as part of the American Memory website.  The databas is searchable by location.  Begin your research here and see which, if any, of your towns are included.  Make note of the URL for those you locate (the url is the line which begins http://)

IF NONE of your towns has a panorama map, proceed to a good search engine (either http://www.google.com or http://www.northernlight.com) and investigate until you locate a website for one of the towns which has a town history included.

NOTE!!!  There are towns of the same names in several states.  Make sure that what you locate is in the proper New England State.
