(100 famous New Englanders)
Objective:
to summarize what you've learned about what is distinctive about the
New England Region by analyzing two persons who have been shaped by the
New England Region, and, in turn, have helped to shape its character.
Directions:
Choose two characters, one from the book, In the Memory
House, and one from the list provided at the website, whom in your
opinion illuminate the special character of New England as you've come
to understand it through the readings and discussions this semester. Identify
and explain the characteristics in their stories which seem to relate most
closely to the character of the Region. The best answers will weave ideas
from our previous texts into the discussion.
